This six-day module gives you the opportunity to walk in the footsteps of the Inca and get to know their culture better. On a privately guided city tour you will not only explore the former capital of the Inca, but also their historical sites in the area. During a visit to the Sacred Valley of the Inca you can enjoy the picturesque landscape and at the same time learn more about the agricultural cultivation and salt production of this ethnic group. The crowning glory of this module is of course a visit to the “lost city of the Inca” – Machu Picchu!

Discover South America’s ancient ruins, explore colonial sights and wander through vibrant markets to get a real taste of Andean village life in the Sacred Valley. Take a winding train journey through the steep Urumbamba Valley to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Peru’s most famous site. The ancient ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu is truly extraordinary and has to be seen to be believed.

Welcome to Cusco, Peru!, a representative of our company will pick you up at the Cusco airport upon arrival (please send your schedule and airline name at least one week before). And after taking you to the hotel so you can rest and wait for your tour of the city of Cusco in the afternoon. Your adventure starts at 2 pm with a welcome meeting at your hotel. After the meeting your tour leader will take you on a walk around downtown Cusco. You’ll visit the facade of Qoricancha temple, the local San Pedro market, the main square, past the 12 Angled Stone, Regocijo Square and San Blas Square. This evening why not head out and have some dinner with your trekking buddies!

In the morning we gonna pick up you at 7:00 , from your hotel, then we will go by bus to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where the Inca once built important cities such as Chinchero, Ollantaytambo, Pisac. This spectacular cities amidst the breathtaking Andean landscape were designed in harmony with nature and are a dream for anyone who likes to visit archaeological sites and ruins. For the tour, we will use the tourist ticket “Boleto Turistico Parcial” . This lush valley was known as Wilcamayo to the Incas and has long been the main source of food for the high Andes. Maize crops can be seen surrounding the river and covering the terraces carved high into the valley walls. Our first place to visit is Chincheros where you can see the andean terraces, temples, also you can enjoy  the typical market of Chincheros, then we will visist Moray, and Salineras at midday we go to Urubamba city where is the lunch stop, then we will go to the inca city of Ollantaytambo, where our tour guide will show you the most important places of this inca remain. The day will end at your hotel located in the Sacred Valley.

Enjoy the beauty of the Sacred Valley in the morning before you are picked up at noon and taken to the train station in Ollantaytambo. Your train ride to Machu Picchu, “the lost city of the Incas”, begins there. A member of the hotel staff will meet you at the train station in Aguas Calientes and walk you to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. You can explore the town of Aguas Calientes or visit the thermal baths and relax. In the early evening your tour guide will visit you at the hotel to discuss the day ahead with you.

The bus takes you up to the wonderful citadel in about 30 minutes. During the approximately two and a half hour guided tour through the citadel, you will visit the following sights in different order, depending on the fixed circular route: the main square, the round tower, the holy sundial, the royal rooms, the temple of the three windows and the cemeteries. You will then leave the facility together with your guide and take the bus back to Aguas Calientes. From there you will travel the first part of the route by train and then a transfer will take you to your hotel in Cusco.

Note: In order to better control the number of visitors to Machu Picchu and to avoid long waiting times for entry, the famous Inca site can only be visited at fixed times. In addition, the ruins may only be visited in the company of a guide who will lead you on one of three fixed circular routes around the site. After the two and a half hour tour, you will have some time to stroll around the facility on your own as part of your assigned shift. The Ministry of Culture may make changes at short notice. If your booking is affected, we will inform you in good time.

Tip: It is still possible to climb the Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Montaña mountains (both optional, not included in the price). Both walks must be booked in advance along with entry to Machu Picchu (subject to availability, as a maximum of 400 people per day are allowed). Please indicate when booking whether you would like to climb one of these mountains.

Pick up will be at 4:45 am, from your hotel  in Cusco. Then we go towards the south valley route. After two hours we will arrive at the site of Cusipata, where we will have our breakfast. Then we continue by our private transportation to the start of the hike to the rainbow mountains with our guides who will accompany us to the summit of the Vinicunca or rainbow mountains. The first section will be walked on a grassy plain, where thousands of Alpacas graze, llamas. We will also meet with shepherds and settlers who still wear their native costumes. After 1 hour we will arrive at the the top (5,200 meters), from where they will be able to appreciate the majesty of the mountains of colors, and the Ausangate Snow Mountain. After to take the best pictures you will return to Cusipata in order to have the buffet lunch. Ending the day in your hotel at 16:00 pm.
